katharina birkenbach is a designer with a main focus on making websites with a sort of community/network character. mostly she’s doing this as part of mediamatic lab based in amsterdam, where she lived from 04 to 06. now in berlin she’s slowly starting to set up amsterdam oost aka mediamatic berlin. despite that she’s working unregularly on nearness.org. together with arne hendriks she initiated ‘the average home’.
